Laurie Edwards, My Amazon Adventure
Club member Laurie Edwards went on an exciting Amazon adventure in the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve in northeastern Ecuador near the Colombia border approximately 3 years ago.  The remote lodge where she stayed is accessible only by canoe.

The Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve is the 2nd largest national park in Ecuador comprising of 1.5 million acres of lowland tropical flooded rainforest with 8 major ecosystems. It is the only Amazonian park near the Andes with a dense network of beautiful lakes and navigable creeks. There are more than 560 species of birds, 350 species of fish and approximately 12,000 different types of plants that exist in the park.   No other national park in the Amazon region offers this kind of landscape, jungle experience and wildlife visibility from the water!

Don Fuller, Rotary Foundation
Dave Crofut did an excellent job filling in for President Anne.

Cameron Park Rotary's once-a-year luncheon for the Rotary Foundation was emceed by our esteemed International Chair Don Fuller, who kept his promise with an assortment of entertainment, surprises, and an auction. First, he talked about the importance of the Rotary International and Cameron Park Community Foundations, and why he encourages members to donate each year.  The RI Foundation supports projects overseas to promote peace, provide clean water, support education, fight disease, grow economies, and save mothers and children.  Some of the money comes back us to through district grants to support some of our local projects.  Our club foundation supports $20,000 in annual scholarships each year.

New Rotary Sign Shines
On February 10, our work crew installed the new Rotary Field sign and painted the sign posts at the Shingle Springs Community Center. It looks great! Special thanks to Don Fuller who headed the project and Tiffany's friend, Tony, who was a tremendous help!  The other early morning crew members were Art Cort, Joe Ryan, Bill Ettlich, and Tiffany Triveri.  Laurie Edwards photographed our project.
