Next Week, Nov-14-2019:  Lily and Cindy Bennett, AKC Junior Showmanship

The first American Kennel Club competition for junior handlers (participants between 9-18 years of age) was held in the 1920’s. Unlike adult competitions where dogs are judged on confirmation, the classes for junior handlers are focused on showmanship and how well the dog’s breed is represented.

Junior Handler Lily Bennett shows her two dogs, a rare breed Deagan and toy Aussie, in AKC Junior competitions.  She competes in confirmation, agility and obedience classes.  With the assistance of her mother, Cindy, and Rotarian Mike Dugan; Lily will demonstrate how her two dogs are presented and judged at dog shows.

This will be a “paw-fect” meeting you don’t want to miss!

Last Week, Nov-7-2019: Kim Strand and Ingrid Tung, Building a Legacy
Rotarians Ingrid Tung and Kim Strand gave an outstanding presentation on “Building a Legacy.” The Rule of Thumb is to review your estate plan every 5 years or when you have a major life changing event.

The estate attorneys discussed a number of life changing events that may affect a person’s estate.  Are there changes in marital status, family dynamics, your/spouse’s health, assets, and net worth? Did you receive an inheritance or substantial gift? Have any of your beneficiaries or trustees become incapacitated or predeceased you?  Have there been changes in tax law?  Have you considered making a charitable bequest but have not yet done so?

If you have experienced any life changing events such as the above examples or if you are concerned that the type of trust you have no longer serves your needs then it is time to “tune-up” your estate plan with your attorney.
15th Annual Charity Fashion Show

The 15th Annual Charity Luncheon & Fashion Show presented by the Ladies of the Cameron Park Country Club last Friday afternoon was sold out, and a fun event for our lady Rotarians. Following champagne and a lovely lunch, models showed off some of the latest fashions from CPCC, Cabi, Chicos, Off Broadway and Stein Mart, as well as shoes and boots from Sole Desire.  There was also a raffle and silent auction.  Proceeds will be shared between the CP/EDH Soroptimist Human Trafficking Project, and the CP Rotary Foundation Vocational Scholarship Program.  Thank you Ladies of the Cameron Park Country Club!
