Stories
Next Meeting, Feb-06-2025: Kara Sather, Marshall Hosp., Relationship Mgr.
Our speakers representing Marshall Hospital are Kara Sather, Relationship Mgr. and Leeann Hadgis, VP Ambulatory Clinical Operations. They will share the story of Marshall and the Marshall Foundation for Community Health (MFCH). From humble beginnings in 1959 to becoming the trusted provider of healthcare on the Western Slope, they have always been committed to serving their community. Today, Marshall is increasing its impact through vital projects like behavioral health initiatives and expansion in El Dorado Hills, bringing even greater access to exceptional care. They look forward to the opportunity to share how they are shaping the future of health and healing for generations to come!

Dedication of Portable Restroom at Dog Park
The club moved quickly to implement the first phase of our Park Improvement project within days of its grant being approved by District 5190.  A porta-potty from Wilkinson Portables was delivered on the morning of January 31st.  President Cathy is shown here accepting delivery.

Since member Adam Marshall had several clever names for the portable, but was not at the dedication ceremony, we provided a name in his honor, shown at right.

Members were eager to test out the new facility, so a potty queue formed quickly.

In attendance for the dedication were: club member and general manager of the Cameron Park CSD, Alan Gardner, and a couple clients of the Paul J. Ryan Dog Park, master and canine.  In the photo below, from left, club members: Joe Ryan, Rich Grieco, Steve Long, Tom Elken, Mike Dugan, Dave Sargent, Alan Gardner, Sid Bazett, and Dan Gott, with Prez Cathy taking the photo.  Gary Clarke and Stuart Warner showed up too, but were a little late.

Social, Jan-30-2025: At Boring Rose Brewing Co., EDH
Our club held a fun social on the 5th Thursday of January at Boring Rose Brewing Company at 4363 Town Center Boulevard, #110, El Dorado Hills, 95762.
Attendees included: George and Anne Eckert, Dan and Annette Gott, Gary Clarke, Sid Bazett, Marlyn Pino-Jones, Dave Sargent, Tom Elken, Adam Marshall, Joe Ryan, Mike and Cathy Dugan.  There was lots of lively conversations, including congratulating each other on the recent approval of our Parks Improvement Project by District 5190!
Boring Rose has an excellent menu of locally brewed beers and ales, as well as a selection of wine and soft drinks.  Their food menu included the following items selected by people at the table: fresh-fried potato chips and sour cream, a giant pretzel and mustard; a selection of pizzas, wraps, salads and sandwiches.  One of the owners, Bill Rose came to welcome our club to the establishment.  We have successfully partnered with Boring Rose as our craft beer provider for our Beer & Wine booth at the County Fair the last two years.  And Boring Rose will continue as our supplier in 2025.
