I am thrilled to be your hostess for this coming Thursday to just socialize and have fun. Please feel free to bring spouses, significant others and friends. After all, this is an opportunity for us to get to know one another- and maybe even an opportunity to give a friend a nudge to join!
I will have wine and water but this is a BYOB so bring whatever you wish. As for food, there will be lots, but if you have a favorite, by all means bring it along! Also, this is a celebration to cap Cathy Dugan's presidency so we are counting on a great crowd!
My address is 4402 Menaggio Way, El Dorado Hills. I am in Serrano, just a few blocks down Serrano Parkway from Bass Lake Road. You can enter through either the Torino Gate or the Villagio Gate and your GPS will take you from there--a few turns. Gate code is #8099. I am on the corner of Menaggio and Tramezzo so there is lots of parking on both sides of both streets.
See you Thursday at 5:00 or whenever you can get here...
Mike Roberts is a corn-fed, mid-western, Beatles-era baby boomer who headed west after college and worked in retail technology for the next quarter century. At age 50, with no journalism background whatsoever, he became a local reporter for the Mountain Democrat and Life Newspapers. The job quickly became a calling. Along the way he developed an affection for local history and yes, cemeteries. At age 58 he retired from the Mountain Democrat and let that affection blossom into a passion for the restoration, preservation and celebration old cemeteries, their inhabitants and the stories which connect us to them. He served on the Clarksville Historical Society Board, chaired the County Cemetery Advisory Committee, and in 2019 co-founded Save the Graves. The photo above shows Mike giving the Clarksville tour.
