Join us on September 22nd for a presentation from Joshua Holloway, CEO of 7th Dimension, to learn about today's cyber threats, most common phishing attacks, and how to protect your business.
Phishing emails appear to come from someone you trust, such as an online provider, bank, credit card company, or popular website. These emails typically try to trick you into giving away sensitive information like your password or credit card details. They may also try to install malware onto your computer by getting you to click on a malicious link or open an infected attachment.
With an understanding of the most popular phishing attacks, you’ll be better prepared to protect your business from the Internet’s most common form of social engineering.
Joshua Holloway has over 21 years of experience in the IT infrastructure and IT security industry. He serves as CEO at 7thDi that services hundreds of clients in multiple industries across the United States. Joshua specializes in managed IT services, network design, and implementation.
Dan Corcoran is EID’s director of operations. For the past two decades, Dan has advised water and power utilities across California, including supporting district operations since 2004. He has developed an intimate knowledge of EID’s water, wastewater, recycled water, hydroelectric generation, and recreation operations during his time as EID’s environmental and water resources manager, and carries this forward to his current role that he started in 2018.
Dan's presentation was titled "Water: What We Have, What We Need, What We Worry About" In the "What we have" category, Dan outlined a diverse set of water sources deriving from very old water rights, which is important in maintaining a water supply during drought years. Some of the water resources are outside the county such as Silver Lake in Amador County and Caples Lake in Alpine County. The system has a firm (95% of the time) yield of 63,500 acre-feet, and the normal annual usage is 32,000-38,000 acre feet, so we have a surplus supply for the next 20-25 years.
