Next meeting, Jun-27:  SSA Zeitlin, FBI -- Counter-Terrorism and Public Corruption
Mr. Zeitlin entered on duty as a Special Agent (SA) of the FBI on October 19, 2003. From 2004 through 2007, SSA Zeitlin was assigned to the Sacramento Division, where he worked white collar crime and public corruption.

In 2007, SA Zeitlin was transferred to the Los Angeles Division, Riverside Resident Agency, where he worked counterterrorism, white collar crime, and public corruption. One of SA Zeitlin’s most notable achievements in Los Angeles included his formation of the Inland Regional Corruption Task Force, comprised of participants from county, state, and federal law enforcement, and his successful investigation of a long-time sitting mayor, for which he was nominated for the Director’s Award. In 2013, SA Zeitlin was promoted to Supervisory Special Agent (SSA) in the Office of Public Affairs. During his tenure, SSA Zeitlin helped John Walsh bring to CNN his new fugitive show, The Hunt with John Walsh, and facilitated dozens of long form media productions featuring the FBI.

Announcements:
Gary Gall reported that this year's Wine and Beer Fest broke 2023's record of $17,000! This year the event grosses $22,200 and netted $11,800 for the club. 25 members and friends and families volunteered for the event.

President Cathy Dugan presented Rotarian of the Month Certificates to the event chairs, Gary Gall, Gary Clarke, Don Fuller and Dave Sargent.

Don Fuller and Tom Elken won the bidding for the golf foursome certificate at CPCC at last December's Christmas Dinner and Auction.  Last Friday, 6/21, they and two friends used that certificate to play at the Country Club.  At the 17th tee box near their home, member Gary Gall and his wife Sheilah greeted Don and Tom and then rated their drives on a scale from 1-10.  Fortunately, all 4 drives were good, for perhaps the first time that day.

Steve Long announced that the monthly Bike pickup to haul bikes to Folsom Prison will be next Tuesday, June 25th, at 4:00 pm at the county dump.

Dave Sargent reported that the first Perseverance Grant from the CP Rotary Foundation went to Ashlee Quintero, who will receive $15,000 toward a four-year college education. He also thanked Don Fuller and DeBORah Demander for helping with the interview process. He introduced Ashlee to the club and she spoke movingly about her travails. In her freshman year she flunked every course. In her second year, however, she got a 3.6 grade average and finished all of her freshman courses. She plans to start at Folsom Lake College and then go to Sacramento Sate to become a teacher back here in El Dorado County, hoping to inspire students as her teachers at Ponderosa High School did for her.

Guests:
Guests included Ashlee Quintero and her parents Lucio Quintero and Elizabeth Quintero.
Hal Young introduced his guest Hermes Reyes who has been the General Manger of our Nicaragua community center.
