This week’s program features our own Dave Sargent. Dave retired in 2005 after a 36-year career in public education, including 22 years as Principal of Ponderosa High School. A Rotarian for 40 years, Dave has held many leadership roles, including serving as Club President in 1996–97. Today, he continues to give back as President of the Rotary Club of Cameron Park Foundation Board and as International Services Chair. This meeting also serves as our annual Foundation meeting, where the slate of officers for next year will be elected. Dave will guide us through important topics, including: - The impactful work of our local foundation- funds educational and vocational grants, and community projects that benefit both youth and adults. - A “state of the foundation” update, covering our current financial standing and the initiatives we are pursuing. - The Darryl Rasmussen Endowment Fund, honoring the legacy of one of our treasured late Rotarians. In addition, Gary Clarke will touch on the distinction between the Rotary International Foundation and our own Cameron Park Rotary Community Foundation. We look forward to hearing from Dave about the impact of our foundation in our community and from Gary about the important work The Rotary Foundation supports around the world. This promises to be an informative and inspiring program.
