We'll meet on Thursday, December 7th, at our usual location, the Cameron Park County Club, for our annual Christmas Party and Auction. Social hour starts at 5:30 PM with dinner at 6:30 PM.
Dave Sargent and his committee have worked very hard to make this year's party a fun social and successful fund raiser for our club. Ulla Petersen and Sandra LeBaugh have done an outstanding job organizing our entire silent auction. Mike Dugan will be an extraordinary emcee and auctioneer, and we are looking forward to an exciting performance by the Ponderosa High School Jazz Ensemble! Thank you Dave and your committee for your hard work, and club members for obtaining donations and/or providing items for our auction. With an expected 104 persons in attendance, this will be one of best dinners ever! The annual Christmas Party and Auction is our club's 2nd largest fund raiser.
Cassandra provided very important information about Medicare benefits and new chip cards that will replace the previous Medicare cards listing social security numbers. It is anticipated there will be new billing issues due to changes required for physician coding starting in January. It is very important for recipients not to give their identity information over the phone to scammers pretending to be from Medicare. It is also vital for recipients to review their plans annually as benefits change. Helen talked about her endless efforts to educate and assist seniors, veterans, widows and their families with benefits. Many are unaware of eligible benefits.

– Sign up sheets are being routed for the 12-14-17 Club meeting honoring Mike Collom at the CP Community Center.
– The Christmas tree lighting will be held at Christa McAuliffe Park on 12-2-17 at 4:00 PM.
Dave Sargent – The Christmas dinner committee will meet immediately after today’s Club meeting. We have 104 signed up! Mike Dugan will conduct the live auction.
Mike Dugan – Briefly described the red to blue badge process. Also announced that Dennis Hamilton and Dave Crofut are returning to the club as corporate members.
Vickie Christensen McLain – A committee is working on modifying our website and converting the Gear Up to the RI Club Runner format.
Chuck LePere – $10 because he found a reconditioned screwdriver during the storage clean up at the Rescue Fire station. Ben Young – $10 for receiving the screwdriver from Chuck plus $50 for his birthday and sundry vacations. Sandra LeBaugh – $10 for general thanksgiving for our lovely weather, fellowship, etc. Bob Clarke – $10 in thanks to Jim Buckley for operating the audio visual portion of Bob’s Pearl Harbor presentation. Mike Dugan – $7 because they have a new litter of 7 Portuguese water puppies.
