Stories
Next Week, June 6, 2019:  Paul Gilchrest,  (Meeting at the Cameron Park Community Center)

As the fire season approaches we'll have a timely update from Paul Gilchrest, Chair of the CP Fire Safe Council

Last Week, May 30, 2019: Kathy Jergens at the CP Community Center

Kathy began by pointing out the ED County Fair and Event Center is a 501c3 charity, not a County Agency. The County owns the fairgrounds, the Fair and Event Center maintains it and schedules and manages events there. She mentioned a large number of diverse events, including the County Fair (June 13-16) which had 62 thousand visitors last year, the 4th of July fireworks, the Crab Feed, Music Festivals, the Farm Bureau 3rd Grade program, the May through September Saturday Nght Speedway Races, and the entire grounds being taken over by First Responders and rescue animals during the Camp Fire.

Also, the Bicycle group delivered its usual large number of bikes to many people and organizations in many places, including Chico for Paradise Fire victims, Alameda County for Union City youth, El Dorado Probation Department, and Buckeye School. They are careful to follow the rules about charitable giving in order to avoid competing with businesses who sell bike to ordinary customers.
  4. Dave Crofut – Remember: Wine at Town Center is Saturday, June 15.
