EID General Manager Pravani Vandeyar and Hydrologist Jordan Baxter will provide an update on El Dorado Irrigation District, including its water resources, watershed conditions, and current initiatives.

Pravani has served as EID’s General Manager since June 2025. A seasoned public utilities executive with more than 30 years of experience, her expertise includes water quality, regulatory compliance, emergency management, financial management, strategic planning, organizational leadership, and communications. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in chemistry and has been actively involved in numerous state and national water organizations, including the American Water Works Association, the Association of California Water Agencies, the Mountain Counties Water Resources Association, the California Special Districts Association, the Regional Water Authority, and the Water Forum. She and her husband live in Rescue with their two college-aged children, two dogs, and her parents.

Jordan serves as EID’s hydrologist and has worked with irrigation districts and water agencies throughout California for the past decade. His responsibilities include forecasting water supplies, monitoring snowpack, streamflow, and weather conditions, conducting hydraulic analyses, and supporting reservoir operations to help protect local water resources. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in agricultural engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. A native of El Dorado County, Jordan enjoys cycling, skiing, and fishing in the watersheds he now helps manage. He and his wife live in El Dorado Hills with their two young children and two dogs.

Anna Rainieri of Animal Outreach of the Mother Lode introduced members to the nonprofit’s mission of rescuing, rehabilitating, and finding loving homes for cats and kittens while providing affordable veterinary services to the community. Based in Diamond Springs, Animal Outreach has served the region since 1992 through cat rescue, foster care, adoptions, low-cost spay and neuter services, and educational programs promoting responsible pet ownership.

Anna shared the organization’s significant impact over the past year, including rescuing 1,633 cats and kittens, performing 7,608 spay and neuter surgeries, administering 5,193 vaccinations, implanting 4,511 microchips, spaying or neutering more than 600 community cats through its monthly Free Feral and Free Friendly Days, donating pet food 24 times to unhoused pet owners, and providing nine outreach clinics serving pets of unhoused individuals.

Animal Outreach also offers affordable preventive and dental care, foster and adoption programs, owner surrender and crisis assistance, community cat programs, end-of-life services, and educational and volunteer opportunities. Anna encouraged community members to support the organization by fostering animals, volunteering, attending fundraising events, donating supplies or funds for the organization’s new facility, or utilizing its veterinary services.

She concluded by expressing her passion for educating the public—especially young people—about responsible pet ownership and animal welfare. Anna said she looks forward to partnering with the Rotary Club’s Interact students during the coming year to inspire the next generation of animal advocates.
