On June 8th, we will meet at Tres Calaveras restaurant at 3300 Coach Lane, Cameron Park, in the Burke Junction Shopping Center.  The topic of discussion will be the final planning of our Wine and Beer Fest at the ED County Fair, June 15-18 led by Gary Gall, Gary Clarke, Dave Sargent and the rest of the committee.  We’ll talk about the county fair, a preview of the operation, map, parking, and your fair entrance tickets.  Even if your schedule keeps you from serving at the fair, join us at Tres Calaveras because there are rumors of wine and beer tasting. 

 

We met at Ulla Petersen's house with President-elect Cathy Dugan and Mike Dugan leading us in brainstorming for ideas on projects, service, fundraising and publicity for the next year in our Rotary Club. Besides all that, there was a delicious Diane Wilkinson-catered lunch and we met in the delightful setting of Ulla's back yard. 

Some of the ideas mentioned (no committments on a lot of these since we were just brainstorming):  1) Applying for a District Grant to help build an ADA compliant access at the CP Lake from the Parking lot to the Rotary Pier;  2) What can we do to make visitors feel more welcome at our lunch meetings?  3) A Chili Cookoff or other food-centered fund-raiser;  4) Middle schools and below are looking for fund-raisers to help fund a trip to Washington DC;  5) Increase our social media presence on platforms such as FaceBook, Instagram and NextDoor.
