President Don proposed Cathy Dugan, to be our new President-Elect for 2023-2024, and she was elected by acclamation.
Cathy is a native California, having grown up in Danville near Mt. Diablo. Her family had a ranch with horses, dogs and other animals, igniting a lifetime love of animals. At age nine, Cathy knew that she wanted to be a nurse, caring for people and families. She graduated from St. Mary’s and became an RN working as an Intensive Care Nurse, and as the Malpractice Vice President for the California Hospital Association. For the last 25 years she has been a Hospice Case Manager for Sutter Health.
Since 1987, Cathy has worked as an award-winning breeder as Aviatorkennel.com. She is a pilot and used to keep her airplane at the Cameron Park Airpark. She has multiple awards including the AKC Working Breeder of the Year in 2021 and as an AKC Breeder of Merit Platinum – Over 150 AKC Champions. She continues to raise Portuguese Water Dogs with her husband Mike Dugan, placing dogs in the U.S., Canada, Europe, South America, Australia and Asia.
Her desire to serve her community is now focused as the President-Elect of the Cameron Park Rotary Club, a position she is honored to accept.
