The program was devoted to a tribute to Rotary and Mike Collum who passed away recently.
Tributes included:
- Diane Wilkinson, who catered the meeting with prime rib, ham and turkey and all the fixings. Diane also contributed $1,000 to the CP Community Foundation designated to the Rasmussen Fund.
- Verne Sanders spoke of Mike’s role in the Foundation.
- Martin Fine, from the Pollack Pines Rotary Club which made a $500 donation to the CP Foundation on behalf of Mike Collum.
- Chuck LePere highlighted Mike’s role in the bicycle program.
- Ed Matthews from Placerville Rotary spoke of Mike’s role in Rotary in general.
- Alisa, owner of Way Back Bakery in El Dorado was a recipient of a Rasmussen Grant four years ago and attended the Cordon Bleu cooking school in Sacramento and started her business after graduation. Then a 42-year old mother of three, she was sponsored by Mike Collum. She also provided cupcakes for the meeting.
- Chris Reeg, Mike’s widow finished with a moving account of Mike Collum’s passing.
The meeting ended with a performance of the Ponderosa High School Jazz Ensemble. The group was introduced by Dave Sargent who also gave the group a $400 check from the CP Rotary Club.
