Tip For Printing Web Pages

Print StoryRotarian Bob Clarke asked "How can I print web pages so that the words along the right margin are not chopped off? Here is the answer.

Web pages are formatted for viewing on your computer monitor and often contain graphics or menus along the left margins. These images or menus force the text of the web page further to the right and often causes printing problems.

Most web sites have a link either at the top or at the bottom of the page that says something like "Printer Friendly" like the one shown on the image to the left (blue arrow). Look for phrases like "Print Version", "Print this Story", etc. and select that link. Be sure to look both at the top and at the bottom of a story for such a link. When you select the link, the web page or story you are reading will then be re-displayed (almost always in a new web browser page) without all of the graphics and web site headings. When you print that page, it will almost always print properly.

See if you can find such a link on THIS web page and try it out.
